New ‘Megamind’ trailer

The newest trailer for the latest Dreamworks CG movie, superhero spoof Megamind, has been released:

“A satirical take on superhero movies, in which a notorious villain loses his oomph after he accidentally kills his nemesis.”

Superhero spoofs are making even more of a comeback thanks to the explosion of superhero blockbusters, but Megamind doesn’t seem to bring anything new and fresh to the table. It literally feels like Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (you must watch it) was made into a CG film for the kiddies, and Will Ferrell replaced Neil Patrick Harris. And all the songs were cut out. We’ll have to wait and see, but I get the feeling Megamind’s overall impression  won’t be too deep; I was glad to see Tina Fey at her sarcastic best as the ‘Lois Lane’ figure Roxanne, but I don’t know if that’s enough.

Megamind will premiere November 5, 2010, and a sequel for The Incredibles can’t come soon enough.
